ABOUT ME

My Experience

I specialize in helping people identify and achieve their personal goals, developing tools and insights to improve resilience and wellbeing.

My experience comes from over twenty years of work and formal training in psychology and education: I hold a Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology as well as a Masters of Music Education. I have taught at the high school and college level in Psychology, Language Arts, and Music. I spent six years as the Director of Advising at the Bard Early College Cleveland, overseeing and developing Social Emotional Learning as well as academic coaching and the college application process. I have also served as the Director of Accessibility at Bard College, and have a special interest in supporting neurodiverse students. My clinical training focused on psychology in educational settings, with children and adolescents.

I am deeply invested in the wellbeing of my clients, and look forward to working with you to develop the right strategies to reach your goals.

EFFECTIVE, COMPASSIONATE COACHING

No two people have exactly the same needs and experiences, so coaching should be tailored to the individual and their goals and values. My approach to coaching is eclectic, adapting to the unique needs and styles of my clients, drawing from approaches including but not limited to: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Developmental and Positive Psychology.

One key component to my approach is the importance of exploring, developing, and learning to utilize one's unique strengths. So often we are so focused on our shortcomings that we end up limiting our own capacity to succeed and thrive. Coaching offers a chance to explore the strengths and capacities to adapt to challenges that may be hidden in patterns of behavior and thinking that may seem like flaws. We are able to break these patterns as we learn to identify these strengths and examine the ways they can be put to work- not just to solve problems, but shape goals that are realistic and fulfilling, fueling our motivation, and nurturing our confidence.

I enjoy working with individuals and families.

I also offer consultation in professional and educational settings.

Sessions are currently held virtually and in person.

COACHING

Life has a way of throwing things at us, and at times we may find ourselves feeling stuck, lost, or overwhelmed. We may feel that we lack the ability to cope, or the skills to succeed, when often we are simply working with old strategies and patterns of thinking that just no longer work for us.
Whether focused on our work, family roles, creative endeavors, or other areas of life, coaching helps build perspective and skills, clearer goals and a path toward achieving them, with plenty of support along the way.

EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING

Whether you are a student, parent, or professional, life can be overwhelming and many of us struggle to get it all done or produce work we are proud of- at times we can be so caught up in catching up that we lose sight of the goals we set out to pursue.
Executive functioning coaching provides support and concrete skills around organization, time management, motivation, and work-life balance. It starts with developing our understanding of how our brains work, sometimes in surprising ways, and building strategies and goals from this foundation so that the work you do is more effective and gratifying.

Outside of coaching and teaching, I spend most of my time with my two children, 11 and 13 years old, and our menagerie of rescue dogs.
I love making music- and I especially love playing with others.
I also enjoy creative projects with my kids and making a mess in the kitchen.

My best days are the ones when I know I have made a difference, and when someone has made me laugh.
